Bishop Ramsey Church of England School

Bishop Ramsey’s success in many fields is a reflection of our determination to live out the aspirations in our Mission Statement. Governors, staff, parents and students together share a commitment to ensuring that, as the School develops, it retains its distinctive Christian ethos, its focus on learning and its sense of community. I hope that you feel attracted to what you read about in this prospectus, and what you see when you visit the School.

The School is at an exciting time in its development. Since November 2006 when we were recognised as “outstanding” in all areas by Ofsted, we have been officially designated as an “International School”, a “National Support School” and in 2013 as a “National Teaching School” with a remit to lead education in our local area.

In 2014 we heard that our A level results for 2013 put us at 55th best in the country out of 4273 Sixth Forms, in terms of the progress our students make. In 2014 the progress of BR students was significantly positive at both GCSE and A Level.

Like many other outstanding schools, we became an Academy in September 2011. This enables us to have greater control over the opportunities we offer our students to enrich their education. We also are able to offer our students truly outstanding facilities and resources following our £21 million building project, completed in April 2009.

Bishop Ramsey staff and students celebrated their reaccreditation at the WCSQM Awards Ceremony December 2021
