Trinity Academy Halifax
At Trinity Academy Halifax, students achieve exceptional personal and academic results against all odds. 42% of our students are disadvantaged and 75% of this figure live in the top 20% of disadvantage nationally. Despite this, our students achieve outstanding results; we are in the top 7% of schools nationally for progress at KS4. All students thrive from a climate of consistency, challenge and consideration. We expect the best from them at all times and our staff body receives first class CPD so that they are leaders in their teaching field and frequently provide support for schools within the school MAT and far beyond.
Students excel as they have academic and personal resilience instilled within them from year 7. We will not and cannot accept second best. Many students are from families who have had a poor experience of education and may not have high aspirations. We open doors and show them what they could be. Daily after school ‘achieve’ sessions for GCSE students, same day detentions based on the Ebbinghaus theory, the extensive co-curricular programme leading to student ‘graduation’ at the end of year 8, weekly pastoral cobra meetings to discuss individual student progress in forensic detail all contribute to crafting an educational experience that is world class. The impact of what we do goes beyond the school gates. The transformational work we do has led to our school being one of only 4% of similar schools nationally to have an outstanding Ofsted rating. We are changing the lives of our deprived community as the next generation leaves us with Christian hearts and minds, resilience, personal discipline, independent skills and results that could not be achieved elsewhere.
