Oxford University outreach events
In March 2022 WCSQM worked with Oxford University’s student-led access organisation Target Schools and the Chemistry department at St Edmund Hall to offer a group of GCSE and A level WCSQM alumni students a unique and immersive chemistry outreach day.
WCSQM and our student-run Alumni Association committee are working with Target Schools to develop further outreach opportunities for students in 2022/23, with the aim of dispelling the myths around the inaccessibility of Oxford University.

WCSQM Awards Ceremony at the Sheldonian Theatre
In December 2021 the WCSQM annual Symposium was held at the prestigious Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford University. The magnificent building was the perfect setting for an evening that celebrated the achievements of World Class schools and students after a particularly challenging two years. Prior to the ceremony visiting staff and students joined a tour of the university buildings and the local city of Oxford, led by Target Schools, and enjoyed an engaging presentation from Oxplore on how to use the debating platform to spark questions and curiosity in the classroom.
