LinkedIn

We work in partnership with professional networking site LinkedIn, offering opportunities for World Class students to develop the World Class characteristics they have honed at school beyond education, through use of the LinkedIn platform.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is used by employees and employers worldwide as a platform for building meaningful networks to support personal and professional development. So much so, that many universities actively insist that students create a LinkedIn profile when they join, and encourage them to use the platform throughout their studies in order to maximise their networking and employability.

A recent government commissioned report reveals that young people in England are significantly behind their European and American peers in using social media to access education, and career opportunities. It notes that state schools have not embraced the fact that 75% of 18 – 25 year olds get their job through a professional platform such as Linkedin, and that this is predicted to rise to 95% in less than five years time. Every 16+  student at a World Class school is entitled to a World Class profile on Linkedin.  In addition our app is Linkedin compatible, so that students can transfer their experience directly onto the platform.

LinkedIn profile building session for students (Years 11-13)

Once you have finished your exams, what next? You attend a World Class school, so you need to guarantee yourself a World Class future.

How?

75% of 17 – 24 year olds already get their jobs through the  professional social network LinkedIn.  Colleges and universities use students’ LinkedIn profiles to allocate places. You need to be on it, if you want to get ahead.

“ I just wanted to let you know how amazing the LinkedIn workshop was. It was extremely informative and I am building my platform as we speak. I believe the resources we are working with are able to boost our careers in the future and us young people should take advantage of this.” Kainaat, Year 12 student, The Heathland School, Hounslow

Thank you so much for today – that was truly an excellent interactive session.  Excellent feedback from the students and very valuable for everyone who attended (including me!). Every student appreciated the time Mark took to go through every profile with individual tips and feedback, plus of course lots of extra information about utilising the power of LinkedIn. Thank you again for giving us this great opportunity! Zoe Bateman, Careers Advisor, UTC Reading

LinkedIn for Schools

 (Year 6 teachers/careers staff/Marketing leads)

It is very important that World Class  schools use LinkedIn effectively to develop their alumni as World Class

  • support their students to set themselves up with the World Class brand, giving them the advantage they deserve.

and set up a LinkedIn page that

  • automatically links your students as alumni
  • brands your school as World Class

The more of our schools that do this, the powerful this process is for individual students.
