Assessment Centre 2018
On 1st November 25 schools, including primaries, secondaries and special schools, came together for the final stage of their accreditation application – the assessment centre.
Hosted by Riverbank Academy special school, also applying for the Quality Mark this year, the assessment centre involved three world class students from each applicant school working in project teams on a real life renovation project. The challenge – to redevelop the Riverbank Academy school grounds to promote accessibility, independence and a love of learning for their students.
All 72 students undertook a challenging task requiring pre-event preparation and planning, on site design and practical work and the completion of a final presentation, brochure and video. Students were assessed against the WCSQM skills and competencies framework by our team of WCSQM assessors.
Days like that give me hope for the world. The special school/ mainstream school mix was an absolute triumph and all the students had a steep, rewarding and powerful learning curve which they all embraced with charm and enthusiasm.
Schools successful in achieving accreditation will be announced and awarded at the WCSQM Awards Ceremony in London on 6th December.
