World Class student is a Force for Nature at COP26

Marvin Gordon, Year 10 student at Langley Park School for Boys, is an ambassador for the The Tree Council’s  #ForceForNature campaign, featuring on their moving video shown at the COP26 Summit in Glasgow.

My name is Marvin Gordon and I am fourteen years of age. I attend Langley Park School for Boys, a World Class School set in Bromley, Kent and I am a year ten student.  My early academic years were spent at Brindishe Green Primary School and their ethos was based and formed on the UN Rights of a Child.  Each classroom within the school is named after a tree. I was very keen to apply for the position of a tree ambassador for The Tree Council.  I care passionately about the environment, and I am very fortunate to attend a secondary school that has many trees and wonderful spacious grounds. I am very grateful to Richard and Juliette who selected me for the COP26 video Force for Nature, which was recently shown in Glasgow, Scotland.  It is my ambition to become an actor, director and script writer. I am very much looking forward to visiting the iconic Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford.  My school charter encourages young men to partake in experiences that not only develop our character but enables us to enlighten others about opportunities near and far afield.

Force for Nature

Richard Pollard, National Schools Programme Manager at The Tree Council said:

“Marvin is one of our talented ambassadors who is at the heart of our campaign Be a #ForceForNature. Our Tree Council campaign has gone from 0 to over 2750 schools (0.8M children, teachers and parents) from across the UK, who have come together with trees and nature to deliver this message to the Presidents and Prime Ministers at COP26. Our campaign is supported by Zac Goldsmith the Minister of State for COP26 Nature, Pacific and the Environment. Marvin is part of a big team of ambassadors including singer song writer Benjamin Haycock who produced the Force for Nature song and film soundtrack.”
